Kelly Greenwalt

HI THERE!

Im Kelly! The lady behind the lens. I'm thrilled that you are considering me to be a part of such special moments in your life and capture those milestones. I suppose this is where you will find out a little more about me!

My Favorite Things:

I am a travel junkie, an obsessed jigsaw puzzler and I believe I can do anything after watching a single Youtube tutorial.

Getting on a plane and exploring a place Ive never been before is what keeps my heart full. I’m usually planning my next trip the moment I get home from the last. I want to see EVERYTHING and if Im able to turn it into a photoshoot then add some bonus points.

I jigsaw nearly every day. I also jigsaw competitively. Im on team “Interlocked” and this year we took 2nd place in the Winter Carnival Puzzle Competition. But my absolute favorite way to jigsaw is to build massive puzzles. The largest puzzle Ive constructed so far is 60,000 pieces and was so large, I had to put it together outside on my patio because it didn’t fit in my house.

YouTube tutorials have saved my life! … or at least my bank accounts life. Thanks to these handy tutorials I have learned to knit, replaced a garbage disposal, fixed a leaf blower, learned how to maintain a salt water aquarium, replace a ceiling fan, build a shiplap wall, paint a couch, learned to use a table saw… oh my gosh, the list goes on and on! How did anyone do anything before the internet? LOL! No… but seriously?!

My Inspiration:

I have two of the most beautiful little girls and they brighten my days and add so much inspiration to my life. They also add quite a bit of free entertainment ;) My girls are Addison and Evelyn and they are 13 and 10 years old. Addi is my mischievous one.. you can just see the wheels turning in her head! If she is quiet, you know she is into something! Evie is my little comedian. She can get the whole family cracking up with her shenanigans! They are just amazing.

My Journey:

I have always been a creative soul... ever since I was a child I was always creating something. Every holiday I would get tons of art supplies and my room was always hodge podge of my artist masterpieces. I found my passion for photography in high school and it has been a huge part of my life ever since! I was Spending my days in the dark room and my nights shooting with my 35mm manual film camera. I graduated high school and got a full time receptionist job. It didn't take me too long to realize that a daily desk job really wasn't for me. It didn't take my employer too long to realize it either as I was fired in a mere 8 months! Anyways.. this realization led me on a pursuit to figure out how I can make a living using my creativity.. and BINGO.. duh.. Ill be a photographer! So I went to college and got an associates degree in Visual Communications Technology. After graduation I did a few jobs here and there but never actually picked a genre and there for struggled to sustain a business. But then in 2011 I had my first daughter, Addison. I was obsessed with her, and so was my camera. I followed that munchkin everywhere. Soon, I had family asking me to photograph their kids.. and then friends asking for their kids.. and then before I knew it, my dining room was a full blown studio and we were eating dinner on the couch every night. Thats when I went from the old, "Kelly Greenwalt Photography", working out of my dining room, to the new, "The Silver Blossom Photography Studio" and moved into my very first studio space just 1 mile from my home in North Saint Paul. It was small, I didnt have much.. but it was cheap rent and we were eating dinner on a table again. And from there its just been an amazing journey! Ive photographed over 1000 newborn babies and countless families, children, expecting mommas, pets, headshots, seniors and weddings. If you can shoot it, I probably have. I am so blessed to be doing what I love day in and day out.

Ive been in business for 12 years now and full time for the last 10. It has been such an amazing ride so far. I have the BEST clients around and each and every one of them has helped me further progress into the photographer I am today. It is so awesome to serve the Twin cities and surrounding areas with beautiful and high quality newborn, child and family portraits. I feel so blessed to be trusted with all these precious babies and these moments that are to be extremely charished in your lives. This is my passion and I love that with photography, there is always room to continue to grow, learn and always strive to be better. I am living my dream and its an honor to be a part of your memories!!
